Sex and Failed Romance
Another heartache, another failed romance... These lines from Queen's song must sound just too familiar to you for you have not only heard them but experienced them at first hand, we're sure. Whatever happened, you gave all to chance, you suffered and ached to be free of your loneliness, your useless regrets and exhausting disappointments.
Failed romance is a very uninspiring concept especially when you have to accept it as an almost personified visitor of your used-to-be romantic house instead of just discussing it and its destructive character and consequences. Your failed romance brings a whole bag of memories which should be ruthlessly let go down your soul's drain, a bunch of failed hopes and expectations, piles of disappointments and a few regrets. Failed romance hardly ever suggests any healthiness to your psychological and i.e. physical condition.
Failed romance also brings sexlessness to most people, especially when it's about women. Usually it's very hard for them to switch from one sex partner to another one without feeling empty and confused. It's easier for men to change sex partners at the speed of light to put it slightly exaggeratedly figuratively. However, there are exceptions here as well when it's a man who suffers his failed romance acutely without being able to change something.
There are people who, after some time has passed since their failed romance, start curing their spiritual after-breakup wounds by having no-strings sex, just sex with people they hardly know – associates, colleagues, people they meet in bars etc. It saves them from extra tension and needless thoughts. This type of sex never brings any responsibility because people in these situations are hardly ever ready for responsibility within a romantic relationship at all. They are emptied inside out, and mind-blowing sex with a person they don't expect anything from helps them fill at least certain empty spaces in their hollow soul which still hasn't got rid of its dull ache for the past.
Sex is helpful in these situations as well, no matter how strange it may sound. However, the coin of its healingness has two sides – just as a coin of any controversial issue. On the one hand, sex after failed romance helps one to forget the past – to shake it out of one's body and soul and fill in the emptiness for a short while.
On the other hand, this healing effect is very transient. One gets satisfaction for the sake of satisfaction and is left with same old emptiness when the crazy afterglow has gone (if sex is good that is).
However, there are very positive cases when no-string sex gets two people – two empty lonelinesses – closer to each other spiritually. They become friends and over time start going out. It often brings to another – more successful romance without mind-killing heartaches and fatal failures, romance which is filled with sex therapy and i.e. completely healthy and requires no medical examinations or extra prescriptions.
